THE GIRL BEHIND THE LENS.

My Why

I specifically remember my first time on an airplane with my 2 best friends on our way to Denver, Colorado in 2017. The feeling of taking off 30,000 feet in the air soaring above the clouds was a feeling I never wanted to forget. I had a big goofy smile on my face the entire time just gazing out of the window, and I remember one of my friends just watching me like I was a weirdo because I was so amazed by something so simple that people most times seem to dread. I loved that feeling of freedom, knowing you're going to land in a completely new place, with new people, new experiences waiting on the other end of that flight.

We met a man on that flight that day in the row in front of us that just had a zest for life, on his way to Colorado just to see Red Rocks because it was something he always wanted to do. He told us to live life as much as we can, because it is so short. I've never forgotten that. That has since been my life motto that I live by, because it is SO true. Life is too short to not do the things that make your heart race with excitement.

Now you're probably wondering what the heck this has to do with photography. Well, as cheesy as it's going to sound, photography is one of those things for me. Meeting new people, sharing a day with them that is something that makes THEIR heart race with excitement-- that is what I was truly meant to do. When you see me on your wedding day, I'll have that exact same goofy smile that I had on that flight to Colorado staring out into an abyss of white, fluffy clouds.

Life is all about those raw moments. The ones that make you forget everything else that's going on outside of that one moment. The ones that you can look back on and feel your heart start to beat a little faster. Your wedding day is one of those moments. Let's document what your day feels like, so you can feel that again when you look back at your photos.

MY LIFE

I grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and  spent lots of time playing outside with my friends, going to the beach, and spending time with my mama. Growing up in a small beach town surrounded by people I love shaped me into who I am today, and made me truly value human connection.

Outside of photography, I spend my time gardening, interior decorating, thrifting, cooking new recipes, listening too all the health and wellness podcasts, camping, painting, kayaking, doing yoga, and learning new things.

I'm inspired by antique stores, interior design, pottery, intentionality, and old films.

The most important to me is spending time with the people I love. I truly believe it's not about the place or activity, but the people you spend it with. I love spending time with not only my family, but my boyfriend Chad and our cat Luna. On a regular day at home we love watching movies, sharing dinner together, playing board games or mario kart, and just being in each other's company.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I'm all about

I'm about capturing you two for who you are
together, not just posing you in front of the camera. My approach is to photograph you honestly by creating a space that you two feel like you can really be yourselves. This is where those special moments are captured.

My style is heavily focused on real moments.
I'm not going to make you do anything cheesy, forced, or staged,
no awkward half-smiles, or anything fake. I'll give
you plenty of direction and make you feel
comfortable. You deserve to look back at
these photos and see yourselves in them, not
some posed versions of what you "should"
look like for a nice photo.

Love is love.

This is a space for everyone, and for all humans to feel safe in. I believe that love is love, and I will lovingly document any story that feels a deep connection to me or my work.
